…Don’t you just **** it?

*Sub-question:
Do you often come across such stereotyping (that people try to pass off as valid information)?

+Details…

Colleague ‘A’ started a topic about a local celebrity scandal.

I remarked, “That doesn’t give us (our local industry) a very good track record, now does it?”

Colleague ‘B’ said, “That’s common. Look at celebrity ‘X’ (a different, very famous international celebrity).”

Me: “What wrong has she done? She has not broken any major laws, right?”

Colleague ‘B’: “You mean you don’t know? Drugs.”

Me: “Is there any evidence?”

Colleague ‘B’: “All celebrities do drugs.”

Colleague ‘A’ and I contribute no further to the conversation…

The Life of an Art Student

The third bell was just about to ring when Angela stormed out of her art class with tears running down her face. It was three days before the 38th annual art show at her college, and she gave all her effort in the last month to finish painting a portrait of her little sister Holly. She hardly slept in the past three months trying to come up with a good idea that would express her potential as an art student, while trying to keep up with the ridiculous amount of work, her self absorbed professors were giving her. On top of that she had to work four times a week at the local book store. Her boss Mr. Gerald seemed to have a particular pleasure in making Angela’s life more miserable then it already was. She never needed to work before, but she recently bought new brushes and a special type of paint that were really expensive, so therefore she needed the money. The painting of her little sister ****** the energy out of her, simply because her little sister was three years old, and could not stay still for longer then five minutes. Angela had to constantly run after her or ask her not to move too much. All that effort all those lost nights of sleep and all that trouble for her art professor to say that the portrait was simply “tacky” and “immature” comparing with the level other art students were in.
“What do you mean “tacky” and “immature”??
“Oh child, this painting looks like it was made by a two year old, and the paint you used must be the same preschoolers use to do their little mess.” Ms.Carmela had too much of a tiresome day to have these annoying kids asking her opinion on these meaningless scribble and splashes of paint. Although someone as highly educated and talented as she, has the burden to tell the truth to the students that has simply no talent and are shallow “artists”. This impertinent girl, who looks like she just got out of bed, wants to be an artist like herself? Ha! What is this girl thinking? She and the rest of them must have woken up one day and suddenly out of nothing decided to become an artist. When she was their age she drew things that made her known to be the next da Vinci! Although… as the years went by and horrible things happened, everyone forgot her and her talent, and when she realized she was stuck in this prison surrounded by hundreds of these dreading kids who do not know the difference between a 2B and a 3H pencil. This horrid girl Angela her name, was starring at her with incredulous eyes and tears were forming, “Oh no.” Ms.Carmela thought” is this girl about to make a scandal? No not again, the last time something like this happened I was almost fired”
“I don’t understand what you are trying to say, the painting I used is not the same preschoolers use. I spent all my money buying the best paint possible!”
“It does not matter. The thing you call it a portrait is simply not good enough for my show! Now, I have lots to do, please leave.”
Angela knew she was about to break down. She knew the tears were on the way. All her months work, her life’s dream to become an artist. It all went down the drain. Ever since she was a little girl, she dreamed of becoming a painter. Although half of her wanted to believe that Ms.Carmela was just too obnoxious, she knew that her teacher was once a great and renowned artist, and knew when someone had potential. To avoid the starring eyes of her class mates Angela stormed out of the class knowing that she had no future.
John who was one of Ms. Carmela students saw the whole thing happen. He knew that his professor was being unkind to the poor girl. He saw glimpses of the portrait and thought it was absolutely beautiful. It was a painting of a little girl, with blond curly hair to her waist and beautiful large greenish eyes, playing in the midst of her various dolls and other toys. The painting showed depth and excellent use of color. He knew from experience, that the women who said the painting was immature was just jealous that someone was better than her in what she said was her “field of expertise”. Mr. Carmela was once a very famous artist who was considered to be the next great painter of the century. Her portraits, drawings and other types of art works were sold to celebrities and art collectors for a ridiculous amount of money; but she lost her fortune when her manager legally “stole” everything she had. According to various students in the college after that she became very infamous and lost many clients and was soon forgotten. Now she took the job of messing people’s lives as a professor one of the country’s best art colleges. She always likes attention and when someone who was not her was being the center of attention she somehow changed subjects so she would be the axis where the world revolved around her. John then remembered one day that he saw the director of the college complimenting
its supposed to be polyphonic..

We have a President Elects chief of staff, a Governor of a large populated state, and a Congressman making deals to secure the appointment of a Senate seat, why no calls for a special prosecutor by congress to investigate how far up this scandal went? Did Barack Obama have anything to do with this, did he know? What say you?

I found several “Design sites” over the years that all make money by creating layouts with celebrity photos and selling them.

I always thought this would count as an illegal act, because they don’t have the written permission of the photographer, the celeb themselves or the management to use those images, right?

So what’s the deal? Illegal or not?
