Yeah it irritates me too but it’s not just America - it’s the West in general. And it is sickening that mindless crap makes news and takes precedence over the inequality of life and that the richer you are, the more important you are deemed.

It really is stupid.
Who cares about what the celebrities are doing? We should be caring about what the kid down the block is doing and who he is talking to.
Who cares about gossip, it is just bad talk about some innocent person who doesn’t even care about the gossip.
Who cares about American Idol? They are just a bunch of people trying to get rich.
Who cares about scandals? That is just what it is.
People care about mindless nonsense because they have nothing else to do with their minds but worry about everyone else instead of trying to make their own life better.

I think America, or most if not all has become obsessed with other peoples lives and excitement because through their eyes their life might not be as fulfilling as they make it seem…I guess its just that everything is entertainment..but its depressing that we have brought ourselves to be amused with other people’s drama and gossip. I don’t exactly think that it is all Mindless i think it becomes mindless once a person does nothing with their life BUT concern themselves with gossip etc.
